3 weeks down the road...

Updated: Aug 22, 2019

Well, it has been just over 3 weeks of #PlayersUnited and at first all seemed good and well, like we may have sent a strong signal out the gate. But old habits are hard to kill so we thought what better time to revisit the post that started it all, with the original set of promises and score them out.

A REPORT CARD OF SCOPELY’S PROMISES TO #PLAYERSUNITED DAY 14

Content Refresh ● Supply Depot; Assault Depot; Survival Depot; War Crates; 30 Day Pass Crate; 5-Star Recruit Wheel; Basic Rewards Wheel; Prestige Recruits Wheel; Helper Token Wheel; Elite Characters Wheel; Elite Weapons Wheel –> No changes Grade >>> F

Basic gameplay updates ● Increase to Roster Cap; New Player Levels; More permanent collections offering relevant characters (including Gen 2 fighters and S-Class); More frequent Log-in Events; Three additional Legacy Ascendables will be released by the end of October; Updates to Survival Road; Updates to Faction Assault –> collections are complicated and “permanent” seems relative --> an anniversary login event that gives a toon with laughable underwhelming stats including the first ever RNG based AR --> release of legacy Romanov with stats and skills that are not up to date with meta Grade >>> F

Communication ● launching a new blog with a regular cadence of content; -Player Council to update and discuss our promises outlined, and to strengthen communication lines between players and the development team; - greater communication from our community managers in our forums and other community channels. –> no blog --> no update on the status of Player Council --> Communication from cms seem less Grade >>> D-

Technical stability ● making the gameplay experience as smooth as possible. We acknowledge that recently we have experienced a lot of technical bugs. We are committed to making this a top priority and will aim to deliver the high quality experience our players deserve –> continued glitches with new update (lockouts, loading loops, lost inbox, rebooting activity logs etc etc) --> continued issues and disruptions that are not compensated fairly or appropriately Grade >>> D

New gameplay experiences ● creating and adding new features to Road to Survival which enhance the game and create new experiences for players –> forum announcement and beta testing of Arena suggest a new overtly P2W aspect for the game that will only widen the gap - not close it. Grade >>> F

Notes: -General sentiment from the player community is that Scopely is still not interested in our concerns and -Scopely focus seems to be to create more features for the minority of the playerbase of p2p and whales. More and more players are looking elsewhere for fun in games that deliver some of the appreciation this community is looking for.

Current Overall Grade >>> F
